About Paul Kimani Wamatangi
Paul Kimani Wamatangi is a Kenyan politician, businessman, and philanthropist who currently serves as the Governor of Kiambu County. Before his election in 2022, he was the county’s Senator for two consecutive terms from 2013 to 2022, during which he also held the position of Senate Majority Whip and chaired the Transport and Infrastructure Committee. Wamatangi is widely recognized for his community development efforts through the Wamatangi Foundation, which has distributed over 100,000 water tanks to households, supported youth empowerment programs, and provided health and social services. As governor, he has prioritized education by modernizing all public ECDE centres, launched the Kiambu Afya universal healthcare plan, and initiated water access projects under the Maji Nyumbani program. His leadership blends philanthropy with governance, aiming to uplift livelihoods across Kiambu through initiatives in education, healthcare, water, and economic empowerment.
