About Johnson Sakaja Arthur
Johnson Arthur Sakaja is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Governor of Nairobi City County, a position he assumed in August 2022 after being elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. Born on February 2, 1985, in Nairobi, Sakaja grew up in Parklands and later attended Lenana School before enrolling at the University of Nairobi to study Actuarial Science, though his graduation status has been a subject of public debate. His political journey began in student leadership and later expanded nationally when he became the chairman of The National Alliance (TNA), the party that helped Uhuru Kenyatta win the presidency in 2013. He was nominated as a Member of Parliament in 2013, where he sponsored the National Youth Employment Authority Bill, and later served as Nairobi Senator from 2017 to 2022. As governor, Sakaja has focused on digital revenue collection, infrastructure improvements, and youth empowerment, though his tenure has also faced criticism over governance challenges and controversies surrounding his academic credentials
