John Methu Muhia

John Methu Muhia is the Senator for Nyandarua County in Kenya, currently serving as the acting Secretary General and spokesperson for the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP). He initially rose to national prominence during the 2022 general election, where he clinched the Senate seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, making him one of the youngest senators in Kenya's 13th Parliament. Known for his vocal and articulate debate style, he served as the Chairperson of the powerful County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC) in the Senate. Following the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Senator Methu shifted his political allegiance, publicly breaking away from the ruling UDA party to take up a leadership role in the newly aligned DCP.
